Not Good Enough is Still Okay
One of my students has been going though a rough patch and she recently told me: “sometimes what I think is my best is not good enough.” I told her that I could relate to that thought. I then shared with her another thought that I carry with me which helps: “even when I mess up I know that my heart was in the right place and that fact makes me happy- it keeps me confident and humble.”
I don’t expect myself to be perfect in any way. And the permission I give myself to mess up is what helps me stay relaxed. The awareness that my heart is pure makes me confident. And history has shown me that if I keep trying, things will get better eventually.
