As a yoga teacher I feel it’s important for me to share my struggles. I want to help lift the stigma around difficult or painful experiences. There is nothing wrong with experiencing struggle.
I believe that the idea that an experience is “bad” is really what makes it bad. But when we can embrace a challenge as something valuable we can then deal with it in a way that transforms negative feelings into positive ones. But we first have to accept things, as they are, in order deal and then move forward.
An experience is only as valuable as we make it. If we spend continuous energy applying counter pressure to suppress uncomfortable feelings then we waste our energy. But if we just let go. Feel the negative feelings. Observe. Reflect. Grow. Then we can live with greater freedom and joy. And isn’t that why we are here, to really live it all?
