I got a Tarot card reading while I was in #HongKong. While I don’t agree with everything she told me, she did say one thing that I have been feeling for a while. She told me that although I am quite confident I need to be more myself, more bold, in order to take my life to the next level. People who know me are likely to be surprised to hear this because I am pretty ballsy but she is right.
I am a bit of a yes person. If someone wants me to do something I will do whatever I can to try and make it work. Now I’m learning to recognize when the generosity is only going in one direction. I am learning how valuable I am and how easy it is for some people to take me for granted.
I don’t do anything half way. If I work on a project I will deliver something exceptional, always. But some just can’t recognize.
My husband once told me that relationships are like an ATM: you have to put money in the bank to get it out. I think I am a bank with an endless supply of energy for others. I love to give more than I receive because I am just so grateful for every opportunity to support the yoga community and I love that I can help other yoga friendly businesses grow.
But I’ve learned not everyone is wired like me… not by a long shot! A lot of people want to get as much as they can for as little as possible. It hurts my heart a bit that people can be like that. I have no desire to be naive but I do wish that humans would not be inspired to try and grab as much as they can. That behavior grosses me out… but the world is what it is. Now I am better able to see it and respond accordingly.
I still chose to give people the benefit of the doubt. I chose to always remain respectful but I am also open, honest and bold. I am more myself. I see what I see, feel what I feel and I am freer to speak on it in relationships that are worth the effort.
Here I am with @mikeykiyoga . He’s a giver. I can let my guard down with him because he is incapable of taking advantage. He is a constant source of support and so much joy. Thank you for being a light in this world Mikey. If you live in Hong Kong you try his class @pureyogaofficial to get a feel for his magic.
